When I had decided to go on a road trip to Iceland, I was extremely excited. Having done research based on various Internet videos and online articles I obviously knew that Iceland is extremely beautiful and extremely friendly. But I had 2 burning questions inside my head. The first one was whether the place will live up to my lofty expectations and the second was whether the company will live up to my expectations. We were 9 of us in the trip and I had known only 2 other people so there was some anxiety as to how the other 6 people might be. But what followed in those 7 days was just pure magic. First and foremost, I could not have hoped for a better company. There are times in life when destiny has a beautiful way of bringing people at the right place at the right time. In My Humble opinion the crux of life is all about being the right person at the right place and at the right time. All 9 of us in the road trip were different set of people from various streams of Life and from various cities but when we all met in Iceland and started the road trip it almost felt like we all knew each other so well and we absolutely bonded like how best friends and family would. Each and every person in the trip brought some uniqueness and the end result was a beautiful chemical reaction that was perfect in every sense.
The road trip and the places in Iceland were absolutely stunning. It is one of the rare places on earth where the pictures you see online would be inferior to what you would witness being actually present. From the hikes, to the horses, to the glaciers, to the treks, the roads, the beaches and the hot springs/lakes. Anything I say to appreciate the beauty of Iceland would not be enough. They say that many times in life ‘Seeing is Believing ‘and nothing in life can describe the raw emotion of being in Iceland without actually experiencing it. I have never seen people in my life shedding tears of joy over the stunning beauty we were all witnessing every day. Every moment spent in Iceland is worth being captured on a camera and being played back on loop again and again and again.
To the people of Iceland, thank you for being so amazing and showing us around your country with so much warmth and affection. I cannot thank you enough for giving us this journey and I also thank you for educating us so much about global warming.
There are many things in life worth living for and a few worth dying for. I can safely say that Iceland experience fits both the categories.
In the end I believe that my experience in Iceland can only be described by slightly modifying one of my favorite lines from one of my all-time favorite movies.
